Matt Ahrens, MBA, is an executive coach, professional development trainer, and consultant specializing in the application of the Enneagram personality system for team building, leadership, and organizational cultural transformation. Matt’s organizational clients include large corporations, professional service firms, small businesses, non-profits, universities, and local governments. Matt is also a coach, group facilitator, and workshop leader in private practice.
Prior to launching his coaching and consulting practice, Matt worked for Hewlett-Packard, Intuit, Inc., Pacific Bell (now AT&T), and Levi Strauss & Company. Before commencing his business career Mr. Ahrens worked in the Wisconsin State Senate.
Matt Ahrens is a Senior Member of Ginger Lapid Bodga’s Enneagram in Business Network. Matt has worked with Ginger on occasion and has completed all of her Enneagram in Business train the trainer programs: Brining Out the Best in Yourself at Work, What Type of Leader Are You?, and Bringing Out the Best in Everyone You Coach, as well as her Organization Development program called Consulting with the Enneagram.
Matt is a Certified Enneagram Teacher from the Helen Palmer – Dr. David Daniels Enneagram Professional Training Program (2004). Today, he is a Typing Supervisor/Coach and Certification Evaluator for the EPTP.
Mr. Ahrens is a Certified Professional CoActive Coach, CPCC, from the Coaches Training Institute. Matt is also a graduate of the CTI CoActive Leadership program (Obsidians, 2006). Matt was awarded an MBA (Strategic Supply Chain Management) from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science degree (Economics) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Matt Ahrens is past President of the Enneagram Association in the Narrative Tradition and the current editor of its monthly newsletter, TALK. Matt also formerly served on the board of the Northern California International Enneagram Association chapter. Today, Mr. Ahrens serves as Vice Chair on the Board of Directors for the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center where he also is a volunteer mediator and co-leads the Anger Management program at the San Mateo County jail each month.
